Culture Ministry spent several million dollars to back artists

IBNA– Culture Minister Sayyed Reza Salehi Amiri Stated that about 500 Billion Toumans (nearly 132 million dollars) was paid to artists, authors and cultural activist in the closing Iranian year (ends on March 20).
According to IBNA correspondent, quoting from the Public Relations and Information Department of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, after a Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, Salehi Amiri (PhD) told the Iranian media about the most important measures of the Ministry this year and said what happened in the Iranian calendar year 1395 is briefed in three important moves.
The first move was to create an atmosphere of stability and tranquility in the cultural environment to accomplish the cultural duties
“I stress that a cultural environment is a positive atmosphere which should not be disturbed by conflicts. Therefore, we tried to follow a shared literary convergence and conformity to create peace and stability in our cultural environment,” he said.
Culture Minister also stated: “The second point is the cultural vitality which is reflected through people’s consumption of cultural products, and we must try to increase this trend in the society.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to the effective measures were taken to promote the fields of books, movies, music, theater, poetry, art and all cultural realms of the Quran and the mosques activities.
The third point was in line with the economy of resistance: “We tried to pursue the dialogue of resistance economy at the national level. He concluded that the coming New Year will be a year of cultural development and the achievement of promises given to the people at the beginning of the government,” Salehi Amiri added.
