Iran guest of honor in Beijing Book Fair 2017

IBNA– Deputy Director of the 30th Tehran international Book Fair (TIBF) met the organizers of Beijing Book to discuss on selecting Iran as the guest of honor of Beijing Book Fair 2017.
According to IBNA correspondent, in a meeting held on Tuesday with the organizers of the Beijing Book Fair, Amir Mas’oud Shahram-Nia said: “Iran and China have good capabilities to develop cultural relations, and Iran has always looked upon china with respect and sincerity. The two countries enjoy good economic relations and we should also boost our activities in the cultural fields.”
“Being the guest of honor at the 24th edition of Beijing International Book Fair is a good opportunity for both sides to expand cultural cooperation for easy exchange of information between the publishers and the authors and enable them to make the best use of the occasion,” he added.
During the visit, Director of the Department of Press, Publications, Radio, Film and Television of China Mr. Jiang Mao Ning said: “Two thousand years of bilateral relations between the two countries through the Silk Road indicates the deep mutual relations that enabled China to be connected with the West through Iran.”
“So, we are looking to expand cultural ties between the two countries, and we are sure that the guest of honor is able to create more opportunities in this direction between the two countries,” he asserted.
The 24th edition of Beijing International Book Fair will be held from August 23 to and Iran will be represented as a special guest in this event.
