Iran attends 29th Doha International Book Fair

IBNA- The 29th Doha International Book Fair opens today with Iran’s Deputy Culture Minister Mohsen Javadi and representatives of our country’s publications in attendance.

correspondent quoting from the public relations office of Iran’s Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI), Javadi who is also the Director of Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF), attends the event on the invitation of Doha International Book Fair
Organized by Qatar’s Ministry of Culture and Sports The 29th edition of the Doha International Book Fair will be held from November 29 to December 8, 2018, under the patronage of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The event takes place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) next to the City Center Mall under the theme “Doha, A City of Knowledge and Conscience”.
The stand of Iran’s Cultural Fairs Institute which represents the publishers of our country is based in an area of 24 square meters with 300 titles of books on Iranian classic and contemporary literature, Iranology, art, tourism as well as books for children and young adults which are put on public display.
Introducing the Grant Plan which is aimed to encourage the translation of Persian books into other languages and inviting foreign publishers to participate at the 32nd
TIBF are among the other tasks which are being accomplished in Iranian stand.
About 30 countries will participate in the 29th
Doha International Book Fair, which reflects the large participation of Arab and foreign countries participating in the event. Russia is the guest of honor of this edition.
