‘Khayyam Studies’ published in Delhi

IBNA- A Persian Studies Professor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Akhlaq Ahan has authored the book ‘Khayyam Studies’ featuring key researches on the legendary Iranian poet in India and Urdu language.
Speaking to IBNA correspondent, Akhlaq Ahan, a faculty member of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Centre for Persian and Central Asian Studies said that he first collected all research works which have been carried out on Hakim Umar Khayyam
and his Rubáiyát
in India and Urdu language during the last 140 years.
“Then I selected the most precious works and published them with an introduction, commentaries and a glossary,” he said.
Ahmad Akhlaq Ansari with his pen name Ahan is also a bilingual poet of Persian and Urdu who has carried out many researches on Persian history, language and culture. He has works on other leading Persian poets such as Bidel Dehlavi, Mowlana Jalal al-Din Rumi as well as contemporary Persian literature.
