Eminent Dutch Iranologist de Bruijn to be honored

IBNA- At the upcoming Conference of Sana’i in Netherlands which will be attended by the Iranian representatives, the eminent Dutch Iranologist J. T. P. de Bruijn will be honored.
According to IBNA
correspondent, following the discourse-lessons on the outstanding Iranian poet and mystic Sana’i Ghaznavi
which are currently held by the Cultural and International Center of Tehran’s Book City on Wednesdays, the center intends to honor non-Iranian experts of Sana’i in foreign universities and cultural centers.

is the Professor emeritus of Persian at the University of Leiden in Netherlands. He is a contributor to Encyclopedia Iranica
and Encyclopedia of Islam
author of Persian Sufi Poetry and others
Among the notable works by Prof. J. T. P. de Bruijn are: ‘Of Piety and Poetry: The Interaction of Religion and Literature in the Life and Works of Hakim Sana'i of Ghazna’ (Publication of the De Goeje Fund)1983. The book was translated into Persian by Mohammad Alavi Moghaddam and Mohammad Javad Mahdavi and was published in 1999. One of his other works is ‘Persian Sufi Poetry: An Introduction to the Mystical Use of Classical Persian Poems’ (Routledge Sufi Series)Apr 18, 1997.
The honoring ceremony of Prof. de Bruijn in the Conference of Sana’i is scheduled for Friday, November 10.
