The closing ceremony of the 18th Students Book of the Year was held Sunday morning( 20th Nov.) with the presence of cultural deputy Bahman Dorri at Shahid Motahari Hall of Tarbiat Modares University.

IBNA: The 18th Students Book of the Year has 14 select and 28 praiseworthy winners. During the closing ceremony of this award held with the presence of Bahman Dorri, cultural deputy of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Dr Mohammad-Hossein Yadegari, director of Jahad Daneshgahi, and Dr Mohammad Solgi secretary of students' book of the year, 14 laureates were introduced in the fields of 'Human and Social Sciences' (five compiled and one translated books), 'Basic Sciences' (one compilation), 'Art and Architecture' (one translation), 'Agriculture and Natural Sciences' (one compilation), 'Technical-Engineering' (one compilation), 'Medical-Veterinary' (one compilation), and a Special Section. 

Moreover, Ali Khajavi was lauded as 'Youngest Author' for compiling 'Handbook of Design with Autodesk Inventor'. And 28 more praiseworthy authors were lauded during the concluding ceremony. 

Meanwhile, Atinegar Publications was commemorated as praiseworthy publisher for the consistence, quality and number of student works published. 

The cultural deputy, Bahman Dorri, was the main speaker of this ceremony who regarded Students Book of the Year Award as an offspring of the Book Week that was born a year after the start of Iran's Book Week. 

Emphasizing once again on the importance of human sciences, Dorri said: "It is the duty of the cultural deputy to back selected authors of Students Book of the Year by purchasing and propagating their works. The winners should not be taken for granted and by paying attention to the works of them we can witness a more dynamic art, theater and cinema in the coming future."
