Iran’s Book House Institute announced that a total of 1206 new book titles were released during 30 June-4 July.

IBNA: A total of 1206 book titles were released last week in different fields including social sciences, language, philosophy and psychology, natural sciences, mathematics, practical sciences, literature, arts, history and geography, religion, generalities as well as educational and supplementary educational books.

Most of the books were released in the fields of religion and literature(each 195 book titles) while the field of art contained the lowest number of publications(26 book titles).

Among the released books, 1018 were compilations and 188 were translations.

A total of 650 book titles were first prints. Moreover 842 works were released in Tehran while 364 books were printed in other provinces.

During the week, a total of 423 publishers released the books. What is more, 783 books were written by men and 201 titles were done by female writers.

On average, 2,743 copies were printed for every volume.
