Manager of 'Organizing Educational and Training Sources' said that Roshd Educational Technology Bureau is planning to codify 10 tutorial documents on education book production in order to upgrade the knowledge of authors and publishers of educational books.

IBNA: Fariba Kia said: "Since 13 years ago about 37 documents directing educational publications have been produced. These documents present general criteria for producing educational books and do not specifically deal with the goals in each course or lesson plans." 

She added: "After the issuance number 828 of the Supreme Council of Education regarding the allowance of propagation and distribution of educational books by Organization for Educational Research and Plans, the allocated organization is responsible for determining the criteria for standard and appropriate educational books for every subject of study." 

She went on to explain that the organization as well as the Bureau of Para-Educational Technology and Publications are also responsible for organizing educational and training sources for the specification of educational book production, hence a workgroup is formed consisting of education and publication experts. 

Kia added: "At the moment about 10 tutorial documents are being prepared by members of this workgroup, that mainly deal with the criteria for fields such as technology, electronics, development, mechanics, family management, etc." 

Then she continued, these documents will be handed to educational publishers and authors in order to familiarize them with the latest indicators in line with the national study syllabi and educational goals. This will also facilitate distributional of educational books at schools as it will help better identify appropriate books that are already examined by bureau experts.
The codification of the 10 tutorial documents is estimated to be completed by the end of the current year.
