Shariati’s stance against the west to be assessed
On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Dr Shariati’s martyrdom, Dr Shariati’s house will hold a session on assessment of his thinking about the west. IBNA: According to the public relations office of the cultural center in Tehran’s District 6, manager of the center has stated that the session is being held parallel with the 35th anniversary of Dr Shariati’s demise on June 18 to address his influential role in Iran’s contemporary history and the Islamic Revolution. The session is slated on June 16, 2012 at his house which is now a museum of his works and things.
Reza Doustali added that an exhibition of Dr Shariati’s works and visual art pieces themed at him will also be held on the sidelines of the session.
Dr Ali Shariati’s house is registered is Iran’s national heritage list and is located in North Jamalzadeh St. Tehran.
Ali Shariati (November 23, 1933 in Kahak - 1977 in Southampton, England) was an Iranian revolutionary and sociologist, who focused on the sociology of religion.
