Shahnameh rewritten for children
Mohammad Reza Yousefi has rewritten Shahnameh stories for children in 100 volumes. Love Stories from Shahnameh is another work by the same which will be published in 25 volumes. IBNA: “I have been engaged with the completion of the collection for children recently,” he said in an interview with IBNA. The collection will be published by the House of Literature.
He added that he has so far completed 21 volumes of another project on Shahnameh for adolescents.
He went on to say that most of the parts of the collection have been recreated by him. Besides, he has authored another collection in 25 volumes which is titled as Shahnameh Love Stories.
The collection contains stories like Manijeh and Bijan, Katayoun and Garshasb, Faghestan and Alexander of Macedon, Gerami and Ardeshir, and Delafrouz and Farokhpei.
Mohammad Reza Yousefi was born in 1953. Since 1979 and publication of his first work, he has written over 50 works for children and adolescents. In 2000, he was nominated for Hans Christian Andersen award. His play "Khaleh tanha, Khaleh ba ma" premiered at the Hamadan Theatre Festival in 1998. He has twice received the IBBY Diploma.
