Naser Taghvaee in the funeral ceremony of Mohammad Ayyoubi: Southern writers created a new tone voice in contemporary fiction
In the funeral ceremony of Mohamamd Ayyoubi, Naser Taghvaee, movie director, said: Ayyoubi's first short story "Tea" was published in a southern magazine. His style and view point, presented a new atmosphere to the contemporary fiction. This atmosphere later influenced movies. The southern writers expressed their talents even though there were many limitations and censorship in those years. IBNA: In the funeral ceremony of Mohammad Ayyoubi, Naser Taghvaee, Movie director, talked about the formation of the southern writers' circle. He said: In the 60s a number of friends asked me to cooperate with them in a literary magazine. Despite the limitations and censorship, those times were very interesting.
He added: In those conditions a chance was given to Iranian youth to start literary and artistic magazines. Abadanian youth started their own literary magazine too.
The director of "Lineless paper" also said: The first materials that I got for publication were from high school students. Mohamamd Ayyoubi and Adnan Ghoreifi were high school graduates who had newly started writing.
Taghvaee added: The first issue of the magazine was published in 1966. We published one issue a month and send it to all the provincial cities. This way a literary connection was built between the youth and many of us who had not seen each other became friends through our writings.
Even though the Shah's intelligence service confiscated the magazine in 1967, it still managed to introduce a generation of young writers some of which were arrested a little while after the confiscation of the magazine.
Taghvaee said: I told the news to Al Ahmad, Golestan and Saedi, but our efforts were in vein and did not result in their freedom. Any how the magazine of the south started a movement among the young poets and writers of the region that later influenced our movies.
Then he referred to Ayyoubi's character and the characteristics of his works: Ayyoubi chose writing as a career, literature is a career like other; it leads people.
This southern writer said: Ayyoubi wrote with compassion and patience. He tolerated the limitations and hardships. Right now he has 4 books under publication when other stopped writing because of hardships.
Taghvaee said: I hope that his works be published soon. His family should be very proud of him.
Mohamamd Yaghoubi's funeral was held this morning (January 11). He was buried in the artists' section of Behesht Zahra cemetery. Id : 59518 |
